In my practice, I strongly believe in the power of relationship to heal and to promote personal growth. The uniqueness of each life can feel particularity isolating during times of difficulty, and it is often during these times that a drive to isolate parts of the self that are tough to acknowledge emerges. This can leave us feeling stuck, anxious, angry, and upset. At times these feelings make it hard to find connection with those in our lives, yet it is also during the most challenging times when connection to others is most valuable. It is my passion and privilege to sit with and support clients during these most difficult times.
With my clients I co-create a connected, safe, and judgement free space to discover, explore, and get curious about the things preventing them from living the life they want to live. I work from an integrated approach and use a variety of creative and experiential modalities to tap into core messages stored in the body, because sometimes words are just not enough.
I hold a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology and my research centered around making meaning of the experience of mattering to others as a component of relationship. As a former teacher, I have over 10 years’ experience supporting adult learners, adolescents, and parents. I have worked with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, life transition, and stress and have had particular success supporting the growth and healing of adolescents and adults with disabilities. I am currently a registered clinical counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors.
